Purpose of Position

The position of the Technical Lead embraces innovation and develops new practices and process by which to enhance our visual database product. These enhancements manifest in both aesthetic improvements as well as efficiency and tools improvements.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and experience in both the technical aspects and innovation of database and realtime product.
  • Monitors and maintains quality and fidelity standards Develop innovative practices and elements that will advance our visual.
  • The focus should be on: Database build efficiency- Increases in fidelity- Enhancements to content- Identification of texture palettes- Defining of aesthetic standards -Strong skills in modeling, vector modeling, texture art, or terrain.
  • Ability to clearly communicate between different key entities ranging from artists to software engineers.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills that require coordination with other departments.
  • Has an eye for appropriate detail and quality.
  • Assists with defining scope and reviews database projects, while understanding the schedule and budget constraints.
  • Offers constructive criticism and coaching to Modeling team.
  • Has a strong grasp of database build tools.
  • Will identify areas for key tool improvements/needs.
  • Has the ability to debug problems and get to the root cause.
  • A strong understanding of database/realtime configurations and load management / timing knowledge.
  • Maintain lines of communication across the modeling organization and be an open source of knowledge for all of the designers in a positive and collaborative way.
  • Have a good knowledge base on industry standard texturing and modeling techniques.Inspire, motivate, and mentor other artists in best practices, processes, and procedures pertaining to art production.

Minimum Education

Associates in an art related profession

Minimum Experience

5 years

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of 3D modeling and animation packagesProficient in TerraVista, ArcMap or other similar modeling packageAdvanced skills in Familiarity with CDBDeep understanding of best terrain and vector modeling practices
