Purpose of Position
Responsible for developing software for visual simulation system. Application areas include real time image generation; visual environment and model creation tools; display system design, measurement, and alignment; computer systems and information security. Entry level. Applies fundamental principles and concepts of engineering to the position. Performs routine aspects and progresses to more varied and complex activities with development of additional knowledge and experience in the subject matter. Works directly with senior Teammates. Work is closely observed and reviewed.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Select, test, and integrate computer system hardware components supporting real time Image Generator (IG) systems.
- Develop, document, and deploy installation, upgrade, and systems administration procedures and processes.
- Ensure proper IG performance through validation and testing of operating system, component driver, and application updates.
- Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Communicate between departments. Support end users. Troubleshoots. Provide reports to management.
- Design prototypes for new technologies.
- Performs periodic audits of IG systems to ensure compliance with standards (i.e. patching, updates, configurations, usage) to maintain proper IG performance and adherence to DoD requirements.
- Provide information security guidance and direction to program and engineering management and participants.
- Performs IA/Cyber security oversight and liaison with customer for production devices delivered to DoD. Including but not limited to supporting activities for customer to obtain ATO at delivery and sustain ATO with upgrades.
- Makes recommendations for enhancements or improvements to IT security based on current standards, emerging threats, flow down requirements from corporate. Customers, DoD, DCSA.
- Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
- Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance. Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other applicable technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Existing/Current Comp TIA Security + 601/701 certification of ability to obtain within 6 mos of employment

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other applicable technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Skills in several of the following areas are required:
- Windows systems administration
- Network administration
- Automation of system administration and monitoring
- Automation of system configuration, installation, and updates
- Computer system component test, evaluation, integration, and troubleshooting
- Storage administration
- Power Shell, bash, or other scripting experience
- Existing Security Clearance of the ability to obtain one
- Existing/Current Comp TIA Security + 601/701 certification of ability to obtain within 6 mos of employment
