Purpose of Position

The Software Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and identifying improvements by planning, implementing, and monitoring software framework solutions.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop product specification, system design, development, and system integration for new and existing software applications  
  • Assist senior engineers in the design of new software product concepts and development; create and test product prototypes  
  • Conduct new technology research and concept specifications to influence the design of individual software components  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional areas on products and programs that will contribute to FSI's strategic direction, development, and future growth  
  • Monitor, configure, and improve integration with COTS platforms  
  • Consult with users on problem determination and provide root cause analysis in a timely manner  
  • Accountable and responsible for the accuracy and completeness of assigned work and results   
  • Prioritize and manage workload and communicate issues clearly 
  • Complete other tasks as required   
  • Travel when required  

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience

Minimum Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in any software development role 
  • Proficient experience in .NET platform and MVC  
  • Proficient experience in Java/J2EE preferred 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Solid experience programming in Visual Studio Development Environment utilizing the .NET languages (C#, VB.NET). 
  • Proficient understanding of Web Development: HTML5 and Javascript, React or similar JavaScript libraries. 
  • Knowledge of web service models: SOAP, OData, REST. 
  • Proficient experience with using SQL Server as a backend preferred. 
  • Proficient experience with Azure DevOps and Git preferred. 
  • Proficient understanding of testing principles, methodologies, tools, and processes. 
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the abilityto multi-task and prioritize workload.
