Purpose of Position
As part of a highly collaborative team, the Systems Engineer, Courseware position is responsible for the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of software applications and hardware supporting training development, delivery, and courseware processes.Candidates in this position will specialize in one or more areas to include:· Systems Analysis· Data and Integration· Testing· Architecture· Front End Development
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Development of code that can be unit and integration tested autonomously.· Collection and documentation of technical requirements.· Design of technical solutions.· Design and implementation of data structures.· Design and development of test-cases, unit, and integration tests.· Definition and configuration of CI/CD pipelines.· Execution of unit and integration tests, documenting results.· Development of automation scripts.· Administration of Windows and Linux servers.· Monitor system health and stability, identifying and reporting issues.· Contribute to technical, and user documentation.· Independently investigate and resolve complex technical problems.· Participate in daily-standup and required agile ceremonies.· Adhere to project workflows, timelines, and milestones.· Report progress, identify and escalate risk to Courseware Technology leadership.· Travel as required for the position.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university
Minimum Experience
Four (4) years' related experienceIf internal, 18 months in existing position
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
· Experience and proficiency of modern full stack web technologies.· Experience and proficiency of split stack application architecture.· Experience and proficiency of RESTful API implementation.· Experience and proficiency of source control management, GIT, SVN.· Experience and working knowledge with continuous delivery systems, CI/CD.· Experience and working knowledge with application containerization.· Experience and working knowledge with SQL and NoSQL databases.· Experience and working knowledge with unit and integration test design and testing frameworks.· Experience and working knowledge with automation scripting.· Excellent organizational skills, time management and attention to detail.· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.· Ability to interact with various levels of management in a professional manner.· Adaptability to rapid changes and perform in a fast-paced work environment.· Results-oriented with high drive to achieve objectives and standards with little supervisor guidance.· Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; able to speak, understand, read and write.· Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
