Purpose of Position
The Center Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the FlightSafety International Learning Center, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission as the factory-designated training organization. This role oversees all aspects of Center operations—including safety, customer experience, employee engagement, training system performance, and financial management—to deliver world-class aviation training.
Areas of Focus
Safety
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure that all Center operations comply with FlightSafety International’s safety policies, quality management system (QMS), and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure facility, training equipment, and simulator operations maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability.
- Actively identify and mitigate safety risks and nonconformities through corrective and preventive action processes.
- Collaborate with the Director of Regulatory Affairs and other functional leaders to maintain compliance with all applicable regulations.
Customers
- Foster a customer-first environment that delivers exceptional training experiences and long-term partnerships.
- Maintain positive relationships with Customers, aircraft manufacturers, and vendors to ensure service excellence and contract compliance.
- Seek and act on feedback to continuously improve training programs, scheduling, and overall customer satisfaction.
- Promote FlightSafety International’s brand and reputation as the industry’s leading training provider.
Employees
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team that embodies FlightSafety International’s FlightPlan, values, and commitment to quality.
- Conduct performance reviews, approve merit increases, and ensure clear communication of expectations and goals.

- Facilitate regular team meetings, share organizational updates, and promote cross-functional collaboration within and beyond the Center.
Training Systems
- Oversee all training operations, ensuring courseware, simulators, and learning programs meet the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness.
- Coordinate simulator and flight training device (FTD) support with the Simulation Systems Division (SSD) to maximize uptime and training reliability.
- Ensure proper use and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Collaborate with Courseware Support and Marketing functional groups to align training offerings and materials with customer and market needs.
- Leverage technology (including SAP, PowerBI, and other systems) to manage scheduling, instructor assignments, and operational data efficiently.
Finance
- Develop and manage the Center’s Business Action Plan (BAP), aligning operational and financial performance with corporate objectives.
- Exercise disciplined cost control while identifying opportunities to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Prepare, monitor, and report on financial performance metrics, including revenue, expenses, and utilization rates.
- Analyze and justify capital investments, new training equipment, and personnel resources based on business need and ROI.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in aviation training, operations, or related technical industries.
- Demonstrated success in managing budgets, driving operational excellence, and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of FAA/EASA regulatory requirements and QMS/ISO principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with SAP or similar enterprise resource systems.
