Purpose of Position
The Manager, Accounts Payable leads the enterprise Accounts Payable (AP) teams ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial transactions and reporting. This position will also work with Financial Leadership on initiatives to review and analyze selected Accounting & Finance department processes and make recommendations to improve procedures to create a more efficient workflow.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve disbursement related approval guidelines, payment controls, industry best practices, and company-established policies and procedures
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, analysts, and coordinators; foster a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement, and high performance
- Monitor and facilitate daily AP operations, set priorities, provide project direction, and oversee team performance
- Evaluate internal accounting processes across the enterprise to improve efficiency and alignment with organizational goals
- Lead efforts to align AP processes across divisions, where applicable, to promote consistency and standardization
- Drive process optimization and automation through ERP implementation
- Establish methods and processes to monitor quality and efficiency within the department
- Establish procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting for general ledger coding of invoices
- Oversee the processes ensuring proper approval of payments in accordance with the Company’s delegation of authority
- Analyze current and historical disbursement activity to identify opportunities for operational streamlining and process improvement
- Provide guidance to internal partners and external vendors on disbursement related activities
- Participate in special projects as assigned
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Minimum Experience
- 7+ years of experience in Accounting Operations/AP
- 4+ years of supervisory experience, managing supervisors preferred

- Ability to explain complex financial data in clear, straightforward language

- Displayed ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Knowledge of SAP and Concur or similar systems
- Proficient with EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint
- Other software programs may be required, as needed.
