Purpose of Position

The Multimedia Programmer - Senior is responsible for designing and implementing computer software for cross-platform integration that includes Level IV interactivity elements in support of Computer-Based Training (CBT) and Web-Based Training (WBT) courseware.  This position is also responsible for writing code and developing software applications in support of all FlightSafety International (FSI) Defense programs.  The position requires professional discretion and judgment.  Work output is time sensitive, highly intellectual, and varied in nature. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Oversee, manage, and perform analysis, design, development, documentation, testing, and implementation of programs in a variety of computer languages, such as C#, JavaScript, and HTML5. 
  • Produce and update efficient and elegant code based on program requirements (such as ActionScript 3.0 and AngularJS). 
  • Test and deploy programs and applications (troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining, and improving existing software). 
  • Develop technical documentation to guide future software development projects. 
  • Modify web services to enhance database interaction with web-based applications. 
  • Ensure brand consistency across all digital media channels. 
  • Apply software and computer programming analysis and design techniques to develop and implement complex CBT systems. 
  • Provide computer programming training and guidance to less experienced computer programmers and other courseware development personnel. 
  • Interact regularly with clients, prospective clients, and other FSI Defense departments. 
  • Design, develop, and maintain variable interaction models (embedded questions, test questions, multi-step procedures, and complex panel interactions). 
  • Remain up to date with the latest digital media trends and design technology available. 
  • Develop guidelines and installation routines for client product deliveries.  
  • Provide knowledge and direction on SCORM requirements for Training Management Systems. 

Minimum Education

 

Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. 

Minimum Experience

  • Five years of experience using object oriented design as well as programming languages C#.NET, ASPX.NET, and JavaScript.  
  • Two years of experience in HTML5, CSS, SQL Server 2016, and later versions.  
  • TSQL preferred. SSRS preferred. Operational experience using Articulate Storyline and/or Animate CC strongly preferred. Aviation knowledge a plus.  
  • Two years of experience defining computer programming requirements, production schedules, and implementation for training programs.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the teammate is regularly required to sit, use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The teammate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  The teammate must have close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
