JOB DUTIES

 

Perform Mig and Tig welding on both Aluminum and Steel from small parts to large weld assemblies.

 

Perform duties as specified by work orders, blueprints, sketches or charts. 

 

Layout and mark weld locations on parts or subassemblies using a tape measure, square or templates.

 

Position parts to be welded into jigs or holding fixtures ensuring that they are properly clamped into position.

 

Clean burrs, spatter, and weld flux from the assemblies using grinders, wire brushes, wire wheels, hammers and chisels. 

 

Must be able to operate hand tools if necessary to perform basic job function.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Certificate in welding aluminum and steel from technical school or Vo-Tech is preferred.

 

 

Ability to read and understand weld symbols and blueprints.

 

Must be able to weld both aluminum and steel.

Minimum Education

Minimum Experience

+ one year related experience and/or training

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Ability to read and understand weld symbols and blueprints. Must be able to weld both aluminum and steel.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently left and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
