Purpose of Position

Directs and coordinates activities of Teammates storing, inventorying, cycle counting, transporting materials between facilities, replenishing supply utilizing the material planner workbench, reviewing obsolete materials and disposing of same, offsite vendor storage and maintaining a share material list for items in storage.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Plans layout of warehouse, and other storage areas considering turnover, size, weight and related factors of items stored such as security.
  • Advises employees on care and preservation of items stored, methods and use of equipment used in handling, storing and maintaining stock.
  • Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.
  • Act as point of contact with Finance and Accounting to manage obsolete material disposal, job material credits and value recovery of surplus job materials.
  • Drives continuous improvement and supports Lean Principles.
  • Stays abreast of current technology and ensures use of most efficient equipment and tools being used to support storage and security of materials.
  • Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.- Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
  • Adheres to delivery schedules on a timely basis and expedites when needed.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Oversees daily cycle counts, ensures proper inventory control and corrects inaccuracies caused by processes, discipline, or other causes.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.

Minimum Education

  • Associate’s Degree in applicable field

Minimum Experience

  • 2 or more years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Microsoft Windows Software and Manufacturing Resource Planning, Enterprise Resource Planning Software

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
