Purpose of Position

Installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots computer equipment on simulators both in house and onsite.  Additionally, may load/test system software/hardware for production electronic components.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assembly, integration and test of equipment cabinets, image generators, projectors, and subsystems on production devices.
  • Performs installation, operation, design, modification, repair, and test of software & hardware on production system components.
  • In house visual support of production devices to include, but not limited to, troubleshoot, isolate, repair and/or replace electrical and system components.
  • Sets up standard test equipment to perform functional testing of installed hardware/software components to evaluate system performance.
  • Assists with cabling, de-cabling, disassembly, preparation for shipment and on-site installations.
  • Removes, bench tests, reinstall and operate the part, ensuring all indications and functions are in accordance with applicable technical specifications 
  • Accesses and interprets system schematics, and electrical and mechanical engineering drawings as well as updates drawings to reflect as-built conditions.
  • Modify procedures under supervision of lead.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required.

Minimum Education

  • Associate degree in a related field.

Minimum Experience

  • Two (2) years’ experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Intermediate knowledge of the inner workings of a PC. 
  • Ability to change user serviceable parts. 
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows Os and Server OS, and MS Office Suite
  • Networking basics and electronic testing equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools to include wire wrap and crimping tools. 
  • Be able to interpret drawings.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
