Proficiency Levels:

 

Tech CS I (Grade 8) – Entry Level, works within the production department to gain understanding of the fundamental principles and concepts. Provides hands on labor.  Participates in subject matter training as required to gain basic skills.

 

Tech CS II (Grade 9) – Intermediate Level, applies fundamental principles and concepts. Performs the more routine aspects and progresses to more varied and complex activities with development of additional knowledge and experience in the subject matter.  Participates in subject matter training as required to gain complex skills.

 

Tech CS III (Grade 10) – Advanced Level, continuing development level, performs more varied and difficult aspects of position compared to Level 1.  At this level the employee would have more latitude in decision making and unreviewed actions, but less latitude than at the Lead Tech position.  This level requires considerable know-how of the subject matter, principles, and concepts. Participates in subject matter training as required to more complex skills.

 

Tech CS Sr (Grade 11) – Senior Level Competent in subject matter, principles, knowledge, and concepts; generally considered a specialist in area. Able to perform full scope of activities associated with job which includes the most difficult aspects.  Able to train complex skills to lower levels.

 

 

Summary/Objective

 

Installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots computer equipment on simulators both in house and onsite.

Assembly and integration of equipment cabinets and subsystems on production devices.

 

Installation of software on the production devices.

 

In house visual support of production devices.

Modify procedures under supervision of lead.

 

Support site installation of production devices. Travel is required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: (Minimum Requirements)

 

Tech CS I (Grade 8) - AS in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic knowledge of the inner workings of a PC. Ability to change user serviceable parts. Current CompTIA A+ or higher certification preferred, but is required within 12 months of hire.

 

 

Tech CS II (Grade 9) - AS in a related field with two years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Intermediate knowledge of the inner workings of a PC. Ability to change user serviceable parts. Current CompTIA A+ or higher certification preferred, but is required within 12 months of hire.

 

Tech CS III (Grade 10) - AS in a related field with four years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Intermediate knowledge of the inner workings of a PC. Ability to change user serviceable parts. Current CompTIA A+ or higher certification preferred, but is required within 12 months of hire.

 

Tech CS Sr (Grade 11) - AS in a related field with eight years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced knowledge of the inner workings of a PC. Ability to change user serviceable parts. Current CompTIA A+ or higher certification preferred, but is required within 12 months of hire.

 

SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

 

Intermediate knowledge of Windows Os and Server OS.

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

 

 

 

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

 

PC, Workstation, Laptop, Server, peripherals, common PC buss hardware, networking basics. Basic knowledge of hand tools. Be able to interpret drawings.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

 

Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; Able to read and interpret documents: Able to write routine reports and correspondence:  Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

 

Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; Able to apply concepts of basic algebra.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

 

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:

 

Valid Driver’s License, where applicable.
