Purpose of Position
Processes and applies paints, inks, decals, silk screening operations, and surface finishes to component surfaces per design and manufacturers requirements to produce final surface coatings and finishes to manufactured simulator products.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Cleans and prepares surface for painting, screening and/or filling.
- Select and mix coatings to produce desired color and consistency.
- Paints original items such as dials for custom-built instruments.
- Brushes or sprays paint to cover scratches, chips, or repairs in painted finish of items manufactured.
- Examines printed object for defects and corrects defects when needed.
- Performs silk-screening operations for required items using inspection glasses for extreme detail and precision.
- Studies illustrations, drawings, and photographs to plan artwork requirements and layout.
- Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and arranges layout based upon available space and design constraints.
- Design artwork layout for produces using AUTOCAD.
- Keys artwork log information into computer equipment.
- Maintains all associated equipment.

- Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and/or equipment subject to export control restrictions and the security of FSI materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FSI products.
- Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
- Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance.
Minimum Education
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
Minimum Experience
- Six (6) months’ experience in a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- AUTOCAD, basic PC skills, experience with adobe illustrator, adobe acrobat and Photoshop, Print RIP software and vinyl plotter design software.
