Purpose of Position
Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in fabrication and assembly of structural, electromechanical, sheet metal and composite assemblies by performing the following duties.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job.
- Analyzes and interprets specification, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties and expedites workflow.
- Accountable for work in progress and finished assemblies.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures and resources to meet production schedules.
- Drives for compliance of level 2 schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Participates and champions Lean initiatives.
- Implements improvements and establishes metrics to measure results.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
- Uses proper safety procedures and lock out/tag out processes.
- Exhibit and practice professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers.
- Interact within a cooperative environment through beneficial behavior, commitment to common goals, contribution to problem solving, communication of ideas and suggestions, and encouragement to other employees and departments.
- Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and/or equipment subject to export control restrictions and the security of FSI materials
- Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Education
Associate’s Degree in applicable field.
Minimum Experience
4 years related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with manufacturing MRP systems (SAP, Syteline)
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- General operational knowledge of all manufacturing equipment as related to specific department specialty
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
