Purpose of Position
Inspects complex component parts and assemblies from outside vendors and in-process fabrication departments to ensure conformance to work orders, drawings and engineering specifications.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Perform inspections of incoming, in-process and ready to ship components and subassemblies to assure compliance to engineering designs, specifications, and workmanship standards. May also perform source inspections at suppliers.
Able to use various inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, CMMs, gage blocks, pin gages, radius gages, multimeters, oscilloscopes, color sensors, etc.
Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
Record inspection results and prepare inspection reports.
Ensure required documentation, records and traceability are completed and stored.
Identify non-conforming parts and take appropriate action. Document non-conforming material for disposition in tracking software. Makes disposition on non-conforming material that is minor in nature.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum Experience
Level 1: Prefer a minimum of one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level II: Four years inspection experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level III: Eight years inspection experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Computer literate, MS Office tools
Software driven precision measuring tools.
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
