JOB DUTIES

 

Promotes, develops, and oversees compliance of FlightSafety’s Quality and Safety Programs.  Effectively assures compliance to customer requirements by managing quality policies, standards, procedures, programs and practices while driving and facilitating continuous improvement.  Oversees and administers business unit Quality Management System.  Establishes and promotes a healthy and safe work environment. Oversees the implementation and maintenance of environmental health and safety management systems. Emphasis accountability around safety policies and decisions. Aids in the development and implementation of safety strategies.

 

Represents FSI as a liaison with customers, regulatory authorities and accreditation agencies for matters concerning the Quality Management System.

 

Aids Program Management Office in addressing customer QMS requirements, questionnaires and audits as needed.

 

Ensure that Quality Management systems are maintained and updated where necessary to maintain existing company accreditations.

 

Plan and develop methods, procedures and schedules to conduct a continuously improving quality process.

 

Reviews data obtained during quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.

 

Develops approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.

 

Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation

 

Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.

 

Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization.

 

Designs and implements quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.

 

Performs project management activities for Quality Management System projects, proactively researches and implements quality assurance opportunities, direct the activities of contractors and manages technical staff for various quality initiatives, formulates project plans, prepares technical and cost proposals, conducts subcontractor quality management assessments.

 

Champion the ISO9001:2015 program to ensure compliance and maintenance of ISO certification.

 

Maintains records of key performance indicators used in performance measurement and reporting against Corporate Long Range and Annual Focus Plan goals.

 

Organizes and facilitates recurring monthly Continuous Improvement Council meetings and organizational performance reviews.

 

Ensure teammates are working in a safe and secure environment and that they use best practices of occupational safety & health.

 

Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new safety prevention measures.

 

Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and OSHA rules and regulations.

 

Drives continuous improvement through safety analyses, audits, and investigations.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS

 

Bachelor’s Degree and four years’ experience in quality assurance and safety; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience in ISO 9000, Minimum of 5 years’ experience Management a plus.
