Purpose of Position

Performs engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Assistance is furnished on unusual problems. Work is reviewed for application of sound engineering judgment.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Entry level uses basic understanding of the field to perform job duties Works directly with more senior Teammates.  Work is closely observed and reviewed.
  • Reviews simulator engineering specifications, malfunction documents, flight test requirements, flight test and aircraft data.
  • Implements all standard flight simulation software and integrates the software with that of other engineering disciplines.
  • Directs flight testing for simulator validation and reviews gathered data.
  • Reduces and integrates flight test data into off-line simulation environment.
  • Develops and/or implements complete flight program Math Model and source code as required by the aircraft simulator specification.
  • Using the off-line simulation environment or the simulator, performs procedures to empirically refine a software design meeting all applicable objective and subjective criteria.
  • Determines flight test data to be used in and prepares the Qualification Test Guide.
  • Works with engineering colleagues, project engineers, and others to achieve a smoothly integrated system.
  • Presents the simulator performance and handling characteristics to the customer and corrects deficiencies identified by the customer. This may include working at customer facilities.

  • Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and/or equipment subject to export control restrictions and the security of FSI materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FSI products.
  • Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
  • Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other applicable technical field

Minimum Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other applicable technical field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Microsoft Office and FORTRAN.

  • Simulink and C desired
