Proficiency Level

Fully competent in subject matter, principles, knowledge and concepts; generally considered a specialist in the area of assignment.  Able to perform full scope of activities associated with job which includes the most difficult aspects.   Provides training to department members when required.  Provides guidance to less senior expeditors and mentors when necessary.

 

Purpose of Position

Performs any combination of the following and similar expediting duties to resolve and status missing, late and completion of parts and subassemblies on the shop floor. Moves and synchronizes traveler paperwork, and coordinates corrective action for document and parts.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Acquire equipment in response to field requests.
  • Prepare equipment appropriately for shipment.
  • Process AOG / counter to counter shipments:  Includes preparing air bills, prebooking flights as required by air carriers, and delivering parts to airport.  Follow up with customer or center with flight details.
  • Prepare and verify shipping documents as directed. Must verify part numbers against receiving documents, FSI-SIMS Support Requests orders and repairs.  Serial numbers must be tracked and entered on the shipping documentation.
  • For outside customers; verify signed purchase orders are attached to support request and verify “ship to” address on customer purchase orders prior to shipping.
  • Identify and locate international shipping information (ECCN, Schedule B/HTS codes, country of origin, etc.).  Prepare customs invoice and obtain approval on all international shipments prior to transport packaged equipment to point of shipment.
  • Update FSI-SIMS Support Requests with appropriate shipping and tracking information for repairs and parts orders.  Reassign FSI requests to RFR when all parts have shipped.  Email TSA’s when outside customer orders are ready for RFR.
  • Acquire appropriate shipping receipts and tracking numbers.
  • Receive and process all misc. orders and repairs.  Perform Syteline transactions necessary for processing orders and repairs.
  • This position is to cross train and backup the Specialist Product Support.
  • Close RMA numbers in RMA database when repairs have shipped.
  • Print all outside customer shippers and distribute to appropriate TSA for invoicing.
  • Schedule data and supply same in a timely manner for field coordination.
  • Overtime required, may be required to come in after hours to process AOG shipments as needed.

Minimum Education

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED); and five years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Knowledge and expertise for this level usually results from internal progressive experience. However, selection for this position is based on the demonstrated ability of the person to successfully fulfill the requirements listed

Software, Knowledge, and Skills

Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, Excel, Cad-Server, Equation, Keytech and SyteLine.

Equipment Knowledge, Skills

Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and fax machines.

Language Skills

Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers

Mathematical Skills

Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; Able to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations

Valid Driver’s License, where applicable.
