Purpose of Position
- Responsible for developing software for visual simulation system.
- Application areas include real-time image generation; visual environment and model creation tools; display system design, measurement, and alignment; computer systems and information security.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develops, supports, and maintains software components, interfaces, features, subsystems, and systems across the development cycle.
- As appropriate, applies skills in requirements identification and analysis; software design and construction; software testing and verification; problem identification and resolution; maintenance and troubleshooting; user support and multi-disciplinary team collaboration.
- Uses disciplined software development methods, including construction techniques, test methodologies, configuration management, and software tools; uses and contributes to product and process management information systems and documentation.
- Consults with other software and hardware engineers as part of a team. Communicates between departments.
- Provides reports to management.
- Designs prototypes for new technologies, algorithms, structures, and processes.
- Conducts research and development.
- Supports computer system and hardware requirements, integration, and maintenance.
- Remains current on state-of-the-art technologies through technical papers, periodicals, and conferences.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other applicable technical field.
Minimum Experience
- ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge and expertise for this level usually results from internal progressive experience.
- However selection for this position is based on the demonstrated ability of the person to successfully fulfill the requirements listed.

- Skills in several of the following areas are required:
- C++/C#/C programming
- Algorithm development
- Software architecture
- Object oriented design-
- User interface development
- Strong physics and mathematics (especially geometry) capability
- Design patterns and/or multi-threading experience
- Real-time, multiprocessing development
- Network programming
- Relational Databases MySQL or PostgreSQL
- bash, Power Shell, Python, Perl or other scripting experience
- Computer system and network security
- Reading and using technical specifications
- Lean/Agile Software Development
Physical Demands and Work Environment
