Purpose of Position

Responsible for maintaining quality requirements and standards, process improvements and supporting and administering our ISO 9001based Quality Management System.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Performs more varied and difficult aspects of position. At this level the employee would have less latitude than Senior in terms of decision making and un-reviewed actions. However, this level requires considerable know-how of the subject matter, principles, and concepts of more complex systems.
  • Analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods across a spectrum of business environments to facilitate process analysis and improvements.
  • Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving.
  • Plan, control and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include, planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems.
  • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
  • Serve as primary Quality Assurance resource to department supervisors for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Instructs others in continuous process improvements including the use of various problem solving and productivity techniques from the following disciplines; LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Team Based Training.
  • Develops strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of the Quality Management System.
  • Applies various industrial engineering problem solving and productivity techniques to evaluate the improvement of recommended strategies and programs.
  • Review, analyze and report quality system data to identify trends and identify the need for corrective and preventive actions.

 

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree in applicable discipline

 

 

Minimum Experience

Minimum of 3 years of industrial experience or equivalent.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Must have broad knowledge and understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, standards and improvement systems. Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation

 

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Occasionally required to lift up to 20 lbs, regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility. Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
