Clerk Shipping and Receiving

Purpose of Position

Entry level uses basic understanding of the field to perform job duties Works directly with more senior Teammates. Work is closely observed and reviewed. Coordinates and expedites shipment of goods to/from vendors, customers and between plant facilities. Assembles and packs all types of parts and material for shipping and receives incoming shipments. Accountable for shipping/receiving documentation accuracy and movement between departments. Accountable for inventory counts and location. Accountable for ITAR / EAR compliance and training.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Determines the best method for shipping and solicits quotes for transportation and packages or crates items for shipment.

Minimum Education

High School diploma or GED

Minimum Experience

two (2) years related experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

PC’s, shipping machines, fork lift, warehouse equipment and basic office equipment

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
