Purpose of Position

Works and or manages, depending on level, individual Government business development activities, including products and services, customer relationship and proposal development activities. Meets business development goals and strategies as directed by Government and Military Business (GMB). Performs independently; recognized as a resource to others: able to translate complex nuances to others; able to improve processes; focus on broad issues. Provides training to department members when required. Provides guidance to less senior Teammates in the department. Trains and mentors to other Teammates as required.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Maintains close familiarity with simulation techniques and technologies.
  • Follows up and or identifies customers with specific needs for training system service and product enhancements.
  • Contacts customer to introduce FlightSafety products and their potential benefits to the customer.
  • Shapes customer’s requirements to FlightSafety product and service line.
  • Maintains contact with customers to maintain awareness of their needs, desires and level of satisfaction.
  • Identifies opportunities and advises on marketing activities, including trade shows, conferences, and media development.
  • Identifies, evaluates and pursues new business opportunities making maximum use of existing data and identifies required information.
  • Participates as needed in the creation of proposals, studies, presentations, and program meetings.
  • Interfaces with all FlightSafety business units and sales consultants as appropriate and participates in coordinated business development activities.
  • Coordinates and or works and supports the efforts of employees from other functional groups which are working on business development efforts.
  • Must be able to interact with people of all nationalities. | Manages complex contractual negotiations
  • Exhibit and practice professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers.
  • Interact within a cooperative environment through beneficial behavior, commitment to common goals, contribution to problem solving, communication of ideas and suggestions, and encouragement to other employees and departments.
  • Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and/or equipment subject to export control restrictions and the security of FSI materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FSI products.
  • Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
  • Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance.
  • Travels, as required.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned. 

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline such as Business, Marketing or related field, or four years combination of education, experience, and training, in addition to what is listed below.

Minimum Experience

  • Eight years of experience in simulation, Business, Marketing or related field. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and expertise for this level usually results from internal progressive experience.
  • However, selection for this position is based on the demonstrated ability of the person to successfully fulfill the requirements listed.
  • Simulation knowledge a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to perform varied technical, management, and administrative related duties.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and judgment.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Excellent English writing skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point, MS Project, and Excel. 
  • Current active government security clearance. Or the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the teammate is regularly required to sit, use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The teammate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The teammate must have close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
