Basic Function:

The Academy Shuttle Driver is a part-time, weekend shift position. The Academy Shuttle driver provides bus/shuttle transportation to students attending FlightSafety Academy in Vero Beach, Florida.

 

The work schedule for this position is 5am-9am and 10am-2pm Saturday's and Sunday's.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: The following duties are essential to the performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Transport students to and from campus.

 

  • Ensures safe operation of the vehicle as well as the safe transportation of passengers to and from off campus locations. 

 

  • Monitors equipment, cleans van/bus, and provides information and excellent customer service to all bus occupants. 

 

  • Reports any incidents to management immediately.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: (Minimum Requirements)

High school diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency (G.E.D. –demonstrated satisfactory performance in the General Educational Development Testing Program) required.

Minimum 6 months experience working as a bus/shuttle driver.

Must be 25 year of age or older.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:

Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver’s License with no accidents in the last 3 years.

A Commercial Driver’s License B or C with Passenger Endorsement.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; able to speak, understand, read and write.

 

Excellent verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational skills

 

Ability to interact with various levels of management in a professional manner

 

Ability to adapt to changing schedules and high pressure situations

 

Ability to interact with varied customer base (current and/or prospective) while providing high level of customer service.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stair, balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
