We are excited to offer this rare opportunity to join our professional team of Simulator Technicians at our purpose built training centre in Farnborough, Hampshire. We pride ourselves on our professional reputation for excellent flight safety training within the general aviation industry and this role is a vital component in achieving and maintaining that status.

 

In this role you’ll be required to monitor equipment performance and conditions to ensure that our flight training devices continue to operate in compliance with all government and safety regulations. You’ll be responsible for the identification, troubleshooting, repair and replacement of components to maintain optimal performance.

 

Our prestigious training devices are amongst the highest quality and most advanced simulation products in the world. They’ve been manufactured by FlightSafety International in the US from extensive investment in research and technology.  The devices are used to provide fully integrated training to pilots from corporate, commercial, government and military backgrounds.

 

We provide training and support to customers and clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Consequently, you will be scheduled at varying times and days to support the customer needs and client demands. Regular shifts are in teams working 12 hours, with 4 days on and 4 days off, with alternating day and night shifts

 

This is a regulated work environment that needs to comply fully with health and safety requirements.

 

EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Level 5 or above qualification in electronics from a college or completion of a civilian/military electronics technical school is preferred, plus
  • At least two (2) years’ work experience, including:

• Electronics technology, avionics, aeronautics or related civilian/military technology; or

• Equivalent direct experience with simulators or other FTDs

 

Alternatively, an equivalent combination of experience and education can be considered if the experience is within a directly related field.

 

SKILLS  AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

An appreciation of relevant sophisticated technology will certainly be advantageous.

 

You’ll need to be customer orientated with effective interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships and interact well with teammates and clients.

 

IT literacy is important and the ability to solve problems and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form is required.

 

Physical requirements for this job mean that you’ll be required to sit, talk and hear and will frequently be required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. You’ll also be occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. You must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Occasional travel may be required.
